            Abstract : 
Natural language processing (NLP) is indispensable as a backbone of contemporary advances in information technology. The linguistics based grammar development of a particular natural language is a competitive option for many NLP applications. In this paper linguistics based grammar modeling theory, head driven phrase structure grammar (HPSG) is used as underlying framework to present rules for agreement between Urdu adjectives and nouns and for the agreement requirement of Urdu possession markers with nouns. The rules presented are modifications to original HPSG framework presented for English for catering the specific requirements of Urdu
