Abstract
A new block-adaptive image identification and restoration method for images degraded by slowly varying blurs is described. Essentially, the proposed method assumes that the blur is stationary within a small subimage, and locally identifies the image and blurs parameters. The iterative expectation-maximization (EM) image identification-restoration algorithm is used in a semi-recursive manner to identify and restore overlapping subimages
