Abstract :
We have developed a browsing system for 3D polygonal model databases that allows users to browse 3D models interactively using an immersive display. Our immersive display is a three-dimensional room with walls, a ceiling and a floor acting as virtual screens (3 m×3 m×3 m). 3D models are projected onto the room-size screen so that users can experience highly visual representation of the models. For both visual and quick browsing, feature descriptor reduction techniques were used for the interactive browsing of the 3D models. As a browsing interface, a laptop computer with a wireless LAN was used which makes possible more efficient browsing of 3D models by users
