Abstract
We propose a modified optical coding scheme that places the optical encoders at remote node in passive optical network, which make the additional devices at the optical network unit to be identical. The principle of the proposed scheme is given and the multiple customers interference probability (MCIP) is investigated. The results show that the MCIP become larger when the number of the customers increases. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is experimentally demonstrated.
