Abstract :
Pressure monitoring device is an area that play significant role in many applications in the near future especially in medical field. It is most important to monitor the blood pressure of a patient since blood pressure is vital signs in all medical settings. Much research has been conducted that results in variety of modifications and developments from traditional blood pressure monitoring device to an advance monitoring device. One of the problems with the old haemodialysis machine is no blood pressure monitoring. If it is not monitored, the user might die if blood pressure becomes low for some specific time especially for the one with cardiovascular implication. This blood pressure monitoring device utilizes some command code that has been programmed into the microcontroller unit to detect the blood pressure from the signal from pressure transducer. The detection of the value of blood pressure is compared with the comparator connected with the microcontroller unit. Any considerable deviated value or value above or below a critical value will initiate the alarm system for the alert of healthcare personnel. The attachment of the blood pressure monitoring kits make old haemodialysis machine more improve in terms of functionality and comparable with other new upgraded haemodialysis machine at a reduced price.
