Abstract :
A genetic algorithm based optimization framework within a block diagram based general purpose dynamic system simulator environment called DYNASIM is implemented. The simulation environment supports a simple communication protocol, which is used to provide an interface to an independent optimization module in a distributed environment. The protocols for integration of user developed systems with DYNASIM are explained and the interfaces of the GA module with DYNASIM is shown
