Abstract
The use of a switching-wavelength pulsed carrier for multiwavelength sampling of optical labels which can then be processed by low speed electronic parallel processors is proposed. This is demonstrated using cross phase modulation (XPM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier based Mach-Zehder interferometer (SOA-MZI) in conjunction with a switching-wavelength pulsed carrier.
