  • Abstract
Two-dimensional arrays of sub-μm size split ring resonators are embedded in a liquid crystal and the infrared resonance spectra are measured. The results indicate that the wave number of the resonances can be shifted by 30-80 cm-1 owing to realignment of the liquid crystal. The spectral shift depends on the mode, the polarization and the spectral region considered.
