Abstract :
A new design is proposed for the development of full-order controllers for induction motors based on indirect orientation of rotor or stator flux. In both cases, the design procedure is based on the passivity approach. The output-feedback controllers proposed permit to achieve global exponential speed and flux tracking in presence of unknown load torque. In addition, they ensure asymptotic decoupling of mechanical and electrical dynamics and asymptotic linearization of the speed subsystem It is shown that strict passivity of the electrical subsystem can be achieved without adding nonlinear damping terms depending on the mechanical speed, in both of the cases considered (rotor and stator flux orientation). About the case of stator flux orientation, for first time, the full-order speed and stator-flux tracking control problem is solved with true asymptotic decoupling between electrical and mechanical dynamics
