Abstract
Multi-hop cellular network is a wireless communication architecture which combines the benefits of conventional single-hop cellular networks and multi-hop ad-hoc relaying networks. Cognitive radio is an emerging communication paradigm which exploits the available radio frequencies opportunistically for the effective utilization of the radio frequency spectrum. An effective spectrum utilization could potentially improve the routing performance of multi-hop cellular networks. This paper firstly presents the developed OPNET model for the multi-interface CR mobile nodes and then investigates its impact on routing in multi-hop cellular networks.
