  • Abstract
    We review our recent achievements in the development of metamaterials with mechanical nonlinearity. The novel nonlinearity types are achieved by enabling new degrees of freedom in metamaterial design, which allow a dynamic changes in the geometry of “meta-atoms” or in the lattice structure. We present the outcomes of magnetoelastic, conformational, rotational and optical nonlinear feedback, and predict unusual phenomena to be observed in such metamaterials.
