Abstract
Experimental study shows that axial displacement of a single mode fiber (SMF) with respect to a multimode fiber (MMF) results in nearly complete recovery of the multimode fiber bandwidth. A separation of a SMF of 125 μm from a MMF results in a significant reduction in the power coupled to MMF´s low, on-axis modes.
