Abstract
In this paper, we have studied the motion of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) inside a fluid. Carbon nanotubes are generated by the microelectrodes under ac electric fields, and dispersed in different mediums, including: Distilled water and Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). We investigated the influence of some corresponding parameters such as: the voltage applied to the microelectrodes, frequency of applied voltage, permittivity of the both medium and CNTs and electrodes spacing, in the direction and the rate of the motion of carbon nanotubes. Amongst the mentioned parameters, the frequency is extremely effective on the rate and direction of the motion of carbon nanotubes. This parameter has not been considered in previous studies. We have compared the rate and direction of motion of the carbon nanotube versus different values of corresponding parameters.
