  • Abstract
A comprehensive evaluation model for agriculture drought vulnerability was established based on variable fuzzy sets method combined with the index system. The multi-criterion fuzzy variable set model was applied to evaluate agriculture drought vulnerability. In the model the membership degrees and relative membership functions belonging to the ranking ranges of all indicators involved in agriculture drought vulnerability were determined. The model was used to evaluate the agriculture drought vulnerability of Shandong Province, China, in 2007. The comparison of the evaluation result using this proposed method with those using other methods shows that this model relies on simple calculations, thus enhancing confidence in the results, which have high credibility. This example enriches the field of study and has widespread value for potential application.
