Abstract :
Microwave ablation is a stand-alone therapy which is used to remove pathologic tissues by locally increasing the temperature up to 50-90°C, for a short time (a few minutes). It is employed for the treatment of several cancer types, cardiac arrhythmia, and endometrium disorders. In this paper, a newly developed interstitial antenna for microwave ablation therapies is proposed, and its performances are studied both numerically and experimentally.
