Abstract
The authors address the problem of estimating the phase sequence of a phase modulated signal in additive Guassian white noise by using hidden Markov model methods. Either digital (i.e., PSK) or analog modulated signals may be considered within this framework. Unknown and varying channel gains may be incorporated. Good estimation and adaptation performance for each method is demonstrated.<>
