Abstract
An innovative approach for indoor AUT testing and measurement has been proposed and numerically validated. The proposed method is based on the use of properly designed sparse arrays able to radiate plane waves in the near zone region. In particular, once the size and shape AUT has been fixed, the dimension of the plane wave generator, the element positions and weights are determined such to fulfil the design specifications. Differently from other techniques, the proposed one avoids the use of global optimizations, thus saving computational time and costs. Numerical examples confirm potentialities and usefulness of the proposed tools and algorithms.
