Abstract :
The paper reports on the operation of the Engineering Clinic program at Harvey Mudd College, and describes the characteristics of the industry-sponsored projects which are carried out in the program. The special nature of the experiential activity that takes place in the Engineering Clinic calls for different roles from students, faculty and industry in the reaching and learning process. The paper examines these new roles in the light of recent surveys of students, faculty advisors and company liaisons who work together on clinic projects during each academic year
