  • Abstract
    The soil resistivity is an important parameter to consider when dealing with the lightning stroke electric field calculation. The usual methodologies were developed considering the soil as a homogeneous and isotropic medium but the actual soil is usually better represented by horizontal layers of different resistivities. This paper presents a PSpice based methodology for the calculation of the horizontal electric field component originated in the soil resistivity considering a multilayered stratified soil.
