Abstract
By extending the functions of Resource ReSerVation Protocol-Traffic Engineering (RSVP-TE), a new mechanism of source-oriented failure notification via adaptable delay (S-AD-FNM) in Automatic Switching Optical Networking (ASON) is proposed in this paper. Simulation results showed that new mechanism can mitigate conflicts of resource reservation in the network failure recovery process to a certain extent.
