Abstract
Proxy caching is used to enhance performance of user access to popular web content. Many system uses multilevel cache for better performance. Multi level cache generally operates by checking the smallest level (L1) cache first. If miss occur in smaller cache than next larger level cache (L2) is checked. This paper will consider L1cache as primary memory and L2 cache as secondary memory of proxy server. LRU page replacement algorithm is taken into consideration. This paper proposes new way to enhance proxy server performance by arranging the cache content in some special manner. In this manner L1 cache is used to store their own web pages as well as references of web pages that are in L2 cache. That will reduces the Average Memory Access Time of proxy server.
