  • Abstract
    This contribution discusses various methods for controlling step voltages around structures equipped with lightning protection systems. Several approaches on step voltage safety limits are given and a proposed limit is derived thereof. Different configurations of earth termination systems are investigated with the help of FEM simulations. From the results guidelines for the design of earth termination systems are derived.
