Abstract
The integration of an assembly scoring system with a production line planner results in a unique method to decrease design time for production lines. Early in the product design is the most cost effective time to make changes to the product and how it is to be assembled. Using an assembly scoring system as a first step cuts out many iterations with the full production line simulator. By first iterating in the assembly scoring stage and then iterating the best designs in the production line planner, the path to the final production line design is shortened
