Abstract :
Steady-state processes in a power piezoelectric transformer (PT) converter with a halfway two diodes output rectifier are studied. It is shown that such a power converter can operate in two modes: with or without overlap of the conduction intervals of the diodes. The analytical equations and characteristics derived in this study were found to be in good agreement with simulation and experimental results. The study highlights the effect of the load and parasitic resistances on the output voltage and the losses for both modes. Expressions obtained in the paper can be used in engineering designs.
