Abstract
Nanoparticles conjugated with carbon nanotubes are synthesized using a novel plasma technique combined with introduction of ionic liquids. First, we successfully generate a gas-liquid (discharge plasmas-ionic liquids) interfacial field under low gas pressures, in which the large sheath electric field is formed on the ionic liquid and the plasma ion irradiation to the ionic liquids with high energy is realized. Second, it is found that the high energy ion irradiation to the ionic liquid is effective for synthesis of metal nanoparticles. Third, owing to the synthesis in nano-spaces of the carbon nanotubes as a template, high-density and monodispersed metal nanoparticles are realized.
