Abstract :
Power supplies necessary for the planned upgrade to the Texas Experimental Tokamak (TEXT) will require a larger input energy pulse than can be supplied by the existing motor-generator or from the University of Texas power grid. Two generators will be installed to drive the new power supplies. The generators and their proposed installation are described. Included are descriptions of the generator drive systems, foundations, cooling system, and lubricating oil system. Also discussed are the reasons for using generators
