Abstract
Accurate aquifer parameters are important for the underground water controlling engineering. In the paper, the aquifer parameters are identified based on the observed hydraulic heads and drainages. The identification procedure is formulated as an optimization problem and solved with ant colony algorithm. The traditional ant colony algorithm is improved to get global optima as well as to obtain faster convergent speed. The performances of the proposed identification procedure with improved ant colony algorithm is investigated with actual engineering applications and the results show that the parameter identification algorithm proposed in the paper has the characteristics of robustness and global convergence.
