  • Abstract
This paper describes the development of a new tactile sensing device that imitates the distribution of nerves in human skin using two types of sensing device, an absolute pressure sensor and a force sensing register. The absolute pressure sensor detects both pressure and temperature, while the force sensing register detects pain. A PSoC microcontroller is used to combine these sensing devices. To imitate the feeling of human skin, we use a silicone plate to cover both sensors and the PSoC microcontroller. Several experiments were conducted to examine the validity of the proposed system.
