Abstract :
Engineering is a social enterprise, and those who would be the leaders in our society should emerge from the ranks of those who best practice the best engineering. Understanding the fundamentals of engineering leadership and the rigors of project management are the basis of the continuing educational program of the Gordon Institute at Tufts University. Through the combination of intellectual resources from the traditional Arts, Sciences and Engineering Departments of Tufts University with the real-world industrial innovation and program management specialists of the Gordon Institute, a unique educational opportunity has been created. Looking forward to its seventh graduating class this spring, the Gordon Institute is realizing the aspirations and the expectations of its founder. This paper will describe these expectations and the program of engineering leadership at the Gordon Institute
