Abstract
In recent years, the number of double income families is increasing in Japan. In double income families their children have to wait their parents at home alone after school, which concerns both of them. It is important to make them, particularly children waiting at home alone, assured. In this paper we evaluate the effects of audio and video of the mother, how much they bring a sense of security to children waiting at home alone by experiments. For evaluation we built a communication system between mother at workplace and children at home where audio and audio-video communications are selected arbitrarily. We show that sense of security and communicative action of children are influenced by audio-and-video communication more.
