Abstract
This article presents study results of linear Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) methods usage, based on channel quality measurements in Broadband Wireless Access Systems. Article shows that linear methods effectively compensate fading in AWGN channels and channels with Rayleigh flat-fading. In case of multipath channels with Rayleigh and Rician fading, the effectiveness of linear AMC methods is lower, because of significant difference in noise immunity characteristics for separate transmission profiles from their analog for AWGN channels.
