Abstract
Many actual applications use encrypted digital images storage or transmission. Secure communication needs cryptography methods to be applied on information. The proposed image encryption method ensures lower processing time and offers a security degree comparable with the classical algorithms (e.g. IDEA - international data encryption algorithm) (Schneier, 1996). The key length could be chosen longer than the image vector and the number of encryption keys is increased using inversable functions defined on Galois fields (Seripeaariu and Duma, 2004). The performances of the proposed method are evaluated and confirmed with different test images.
