  • Abstract
Computer simulation for three different axial flux single side three phase direct current brushless motor models are discussed. Each motor has 32 permanent magnets in their rotor and stators consist of six, twelve and twenty four electromagnetic poles. ANSOFT Maxwell 3D finite element analysis software is used to create 3D motor geometries and process motor models. Three phase winding of wye connection with six solid stated operating switches is considered as a switching circuit and ANSOFT Circuit Editor is used to create required switching circuits for each motor models. Finite element analysis is conducted under transient solution type with mechanical motion, in such way that the applied load torque is non-linearly increased with speed. Motor Characteristics; speed, torque, phase current and flux linkage for each model are observed and plotted with time. According to the results, increment of stator population decrease distortions on above mentioned motor characteristics.
