Abstract
In this paper a structure based ridgeline matching algorithm for fingerprint verification is discussed. In order to combine with those global shapes of ridgelines, we first try to represent the fingerprint ridgelines with analyzable curves. We use the B-spline interpolation approach to fit the ridgelines with B-spline curves. Then we employ a ridgeline similarity score distribution algorithm to finish verification. Experiments done on a set of fingerprint images show it is effective and has high accuracy in fingerprint matching.
