Abstract
Tore Supra has been operating for a year with the aim of getting the basic machine subsystems to operate at their nominal ratings. Operation of the superconducting toroidal field coil system, the cryogenic system, the poloidal field system, and in-vessel equipment are discussed. First-wall conditioning, ergodic divertor experiments, pump-limiter operation, a current drive experiment, and plasma heating and profile control are described
