Abstract
The research of predictive models of discharges is a permanent challenge since one of the main objectives of each investigator is to dispose of tools enabling a saving of time and money when he has to design and to build components and systems. This paper presents the results of the modeling of the electrical discharge (streamer) propagating within an insulating liquid subjected to a divergent electric field using the computation electrical network. This model enables one to predict the different characteristics of the streamer such as its pattern and its propagation velocity, the associated electrical charge and the local electric field. The influence of the electrode gap as well as that of the applied voltage on the streamer characteristics of the streamers are analysed.
