Abstract
We have conducted research on what effects the fluctuation of the shadow media have on the generation of the physical expression. To begin with, we have focused on studying of the difference in the motion of physical expression by altering the positions or the amplitude of the fluctuation given to the shadow media which is transformed into a shape of skeleton (we call this “a bony shadow”). To carry out this research, we have developed a new shadow media system and conducted a couple of experiments. From the results, we conclude that the fluctuation which is externally added to the shadow media can elicit two types of motions; one is that participants can become aware of their motions at a conscious level, and the other is that participants can do so at a subconscious level. We expect that this result will lead to the design guideline of the shadow media in order to stimulate the self-creation of physical expression and expand the communicability for the co-creation.
