Abstract :
In recent times, device such as mobiles and digital cameras have begun incorporating the function of 3D shape reconstruction. To incorporate this function in portable camera devices (1) the following requirements of 3D shape reconstruction, (2) low computation cost, and (3) versatility. In this study, we use the parallel stereo method, which involves the solution of the stereo matching problem (refer to section 2). This problem prevents the achievement of the above three requirements. Therefore, to incorporate 3D shape reconstruction in portable devices, we propose two methods: (1) 1D phase-only correlation (1D POC) using multiple resolution images and(2) dynamic programming using the correlation value provided by 1D POC. We achieved low computation cost and accurate stereo matching for the former method and improvement of accuracy dispersion of stereo matching for the latter method.
