Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. In this work we consider the development of an efficient gridless approach for charged particle simulations. The method is based on a treecode algorithm Treecode algorithms have been used extensively in the study of fluid dynamics. The method has been applied to many types of problems outside of plasma physics. This work focuses on the development of treecode algorithms for problems in plasma physics. In this work, the treecode is used to compute the electrostatic potential.
