Abstract :
The concept of discrete coordinates for railway nodes (signals, switches, sections, etc.) and the concept of local areas of railway switches in a railway network are proposed. A very fast and reliable algorithm based on these concepts are given for railway train routing. The time delay model of the algorithm is developed. It is shown that the delay time can be reduced tremendously by using the switch selecting rules proposed in the paper.<>
