            Abstract :
The intent of this paper is to identify the benefits of linking or mashing up traditional electrical data, synchrophasor-based electrical data, and non-electrical data to improve reliability. Utilities typically use Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) data to manage the electrical grid. Adding synchrophasor-based electrical data to the mix is a more recent practice that allows for a more instantaneous measurement of the state of the system. This paper examines the use of synchrophasor data in a variety of applications that include studying the environmental impacts on the grid and an analysis of reliability.
