Abstract :
This work presents a method of tuning a cylindrical dielectric resonant antenna, which has a wide range of adjustment of the resonance frequency and low loss. The basis of the proposed method is electro-mechanical alteration of the composite cylindrical dielectric resonator with piezoelectric actuators or micro-electromechanical (MEMS) systems. Two types of antenna´s structure were investigated: excited by coaxial feed and waveguide. The basic antenna parameters, and also analysis of dependencies of the normalized wave number versus the relative position of components of DR, influence of the dielectric permittivity of the resonator on the adjustment of the resonance frequency, antenna´s gain and radiation pattern are presented.
