Abstract :
A feedback-controlled, quick-response power supply that has been developed for the saddle coil field in TPE-1RM15 and applied to a reverse-field-pinch plasma is described. The ratings of the power supply are ±550-V output voltage, ±800-A output current, and DC 200-Hz frequency response. By combining the power supply and ten-turn saddle coils, the error magnetic field produced at the shell cuts by the shell is successfully controlled, and improvement in plasma performance is achieved by optimizing the error field compensation
