Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. A method for defining the gas parameters at the final stage of spark channel evolution has been developed as a result of practical realization of the task on forming the arc-pulse discharge. The method is based on defining these parameters by the relationship of the arc pickup voltage value and the arc discharge evolution delay time. For investigations we have used a discharge circuit comprising a series-connected secondary winding of pulse-commutating transformer, a low-voltage capacitor of a large capacitance and, properly, a discharge gap. The spark channel formation in this circuit occurs at the expense of the high voltage surge on the pulse-commutating transformer. We adjusted the value of arclike discharge pickup voltage by the level of the capacitor charging voltage. The requirements to the electric circuit elements for realization of such discharge scheme were elaborated.
