Abstract :
In this paper we develop a new method for membership function generation. This method, based on the ordered weighting average (OWA) and the weighted OWA (WOWA) operator, builds a membership function from a set of observations. The use of the WOWA operator permits to weight each observation in relation to the others. This method permits to see fuzzy sets as the aggregation of observations
