Abstract :
Although the optical touch shows some advantages, it has the drawback of difficulty in multi touch sensing. A new multi-layer touch panel, based on light-interruption-based approach, was proposed to realize the multiple touch position. The measurement approaches of the size and the shape of the longitudinal section of an object were also introduced. A prototype system of the touch panel was designed and built to experimentally verify the proposed method. The experimental results were showed to determine their positions without error for multi touch sensing and object´s size and to measure the shape of the longitudinal section of various objects. The results showed that the proposed optical touch system overcame the shortcomings of traditional optical interrupted-based touch systems.
