Abstract :
Circuit placement is a very important step in the physical VLSI circuit design, since it has a pronounced affect on the final chip layout. In this paper, a new neural network based on Kohonen´s self-organization algorithm is introduced to solve the placement of arbitrarily sized cells in an arbitrarily shaped region. Experimental results show that the proposed method is better than the previous.<>
