Abstract :
The unified multi-dimensional space charge limited model is used to study the two dimensional (2D) effect on the calculation of the maximum Child-Langmuir current density emitted from a finite 2D emission area like a 2D infinite strip. Results agree well with particle-in-cell simulations of a planar diode with grounded cathode and anode voltage, implying that this method may be helpful in the design and optimization of current crossed-field devices
