Abstract :
An intelligent robot system based on a distributed microcomputer system with five microprocessors is described. The improvement and extension of each processor are performed to build a real-time, but inexpensive intelligent robot system. Main efforts focus on the implementation of the system, system information classification and exchange, and function modules in each CPU. Shared information is divided into data base, knowledge base command area and status area. System functions are allocated to different processors to be executed in parallel. Experimental results show that the system is designed and implemented successfully and can be extended for further researches and practical applications.<>
