Abstract
In this paper, the U-parameter interpolation design method is applied to a linear quadratic optimal system to minimize a cost function which includes the control input minimization and model reference signal tracking. A direct derivation of the closed-loop transfer function in terms of free parameters is first outlined. And by minimizing the cost function with respect to the free parameters the authors can determine these free parameters and then obtain the optimal result with desired robustness.<>
